Long Hair Forum 11/ 16 2009

Customer Inquiry:  I have really, really long hair that goes almost to my waist.  My hair is also very fine, fragile,  curly," breaks easily" and knots easily.   I want to know, may I successfully use ThinnyHairHolder® in my really long, fine, knotty and fragile hair?

Deirdre's Response 11/16/2009 Below.

Long, Silky, Healthy Hair ThinnyHairHolder® Use?  11/16 /2009 ( #1). Women with long hair may use ThinnyHairHolder® provided their hair is sufficiently "silky" and in sufficiently good condition that it does not "knot" easily.

Meredith, the model who demonstrates the ThinnyHairHolder® in many of our videos, has long hair.

We have always been able to easily remove ThinnyHairHolder® from her hair--- as long as Meredith uses a good quality conditioner in her hair before she uses ThinnyHairHolder®.

Long Hair That Is Dry, Damaged From Highlighting or Over Bleaching ThinnyHairHolder® Use?  11/16/2009 ( #2).

Once Meredith, (the model you see in the ThinnyHairHolder videos) came for a video shoot after swimming in her college pool and Meredith had not conditioned her hair before the video shoot. On top of the terrible  drying effect from the chlorine in the swimming pool on her hair, Meredith had also just highlighted her hair the day before the video shoot!  On that one occasion, we learned a lesson: with long hair that has been highlighted and which is very dry - the hair must be conditioned with a good quality hair conditioner before using ThinnyHairHolder®.

Really Long Hair That Is Also:  Fine, Curly, Fragile, Breaks Easily and Knots Easily  ThinnyHairHolder® Use? 11/16/2009 ( #3)   If your hair is really long, below your breasts, and is very fragile, curly,  fine, "knots easily" and "breaks easily", ThinnyHairHolder®, may be used if and only if, you followed the precautions described below.

Unconventional Way to Use ThinnyHairHolder® In Really Long, That is also: Fine, Curly, Fragile, Breaks Easily and Knots Easily ThinnyHairHolder® Use?  11/16/2009  (#4  ).

If I had really, really long hair that was also  fine, fragile, curly, breaks easily and knots easily, and I STILL WANTED TO CREATE HAIR VOLUME  with ThinnyHairHolder®, this is what I would do:

(i) I would make a routine Thinny® Circle.

(ii) For several weeks prior to using ThinnyHairHolder®, I would collect hair from my hairbrush.

(iii) I would then take the dead," hairbrush hair from my hair brush" and wrap that dead hair from my hairbrush around the ThinnyHairHolder® in each place where the Thinny® joins connects to another Thinny®.

(iv) I would also wrap some of the dead hairbrush hair from my hairbrush-- around the Thinny® in other places also.

(v) I would then put the Thinny® Circle in my hair.

(vi) Because the dead hairbrush hair would diminish the grabbing power of the Thinny® circle, I would have to use hair pins to hold the Thinny® Circle in place.

(vi) The above procedure would impact  the ThinnyHairHolder®  "grabbing ability".  If you followed the above procedure you may have to use  bobby pins  for extra security. I do not even know if you would be satisfied with the results.

Hair Rats Women Made During The Nineteenth Century To Create Victorian Updos ThinnyHairHolder® Use?   11/16/2009 (#5) .  The procedure described above is much like the hair "Rats" women made from their own hair during the nineteenth century.  During the nineteenth century, fashionable women desired to create great volume in their hair to make those pretty Victorian updo hairdos.  In the nineteenth century, women would collect their own hair from their own hair brushes, week after week. Women would then take all of the "hairbrush hair" and roll all of the collected hair into a big ball (the size of a tennis ball). The women would then use hair pins to pin the "Rat" (that is what they were called! What a creepy name!)  under their hair to create those huge Victorian hairstyles.  I used to make such Rats when I was in college but I found they tended to slide around and you really need a good deal of hair to cover them.   I college I had enough hair to cover my homemade Rats, but my hair is thinner now. If you used Thinny® under your homemade Rat, you would be able to bend and shape the homemade  Rat to a shape to fit your head but again, it may be too much bother.

Really Long Hair That Is Also:  Fine, Curly, Fragile, Breaks Easily and Knots Easily  ThinnyHairHolder® Use? How Thinny® Grabs Hair  11/16/ 2009 (#6) .

ThinnyHairHolder is made of a special light reflective hook fabric that really grabs your hair. Velcro® is a type of hook fabric, but ThinnyHairHolder® is not made of Velcro®.  ThinnyHairHolder® light reflective hook fabric has hooks that have a tremendous "grab power" so that ThinnyHairHolder® stays in your hair. As a rule of thumb I would suggest:  If you have difficulty using Velcro® hair rollers I would not recommend using ThinnyHairHolder® which is not a hair roller. Never wrap your hair around ThinnyHairHolder® --- it is not a hair roller; it is not a hair curler!! To use ThinnyHairHolder® just Place and Cover-Never Wrap Your Hair Around ThinnyHairHolder®.  You may never, never wrap your hair around a ThinnyHairHolder®. Never wrap your hair around a ThinnyHairHolder® because it would have the same effect as twisting a comb through your hair!!   Anyone who has ever twisted a comb through their long hair when they were a child knows how that story ends!   To use ThinnyHairHolder®, you merely place it in your hair and cover ThinnyHairHolder® with your hair.
